It is our ego that leads us to believe we are always correct, and the only way to maintain this belief is to tell people to change, thereby proving them wrong.

And why don’t people change despite our efforts?

Because of their own Ego.

They also don’t want to change, because that would be an automatic acceptance of the fact that “I am wrong”. The ego never wants to be proven wrong.

So, what’s the lesson to learn from this?

Stop trying to change others; instead, focus on changing yourself without compromising on values.

Let’s keep that as the main slogan for our spiritual path.

This will save us from tremendous waste of our mental energy and gradually lead us not just to stop trying to change other people, but also to stop trying to change life events, and to accept them as they come.

That’s when we will start appreciating the beauty of being a true observer.

When we start realizing Sansar as nothing but a battleground of Egos, full of nothing but frictions and frustrations, our salvation has begun.
