Samadhi is nothing but an inversion of consciousness.
Consciousness can be conscious of the whole world, but nothing can be conscious of consciousness except itself, because there is only one consciousness, and it is infinite.
Where are you gonna get another consciousness from?
And that’s why inversion of consciousness is a must, and that can happen only within you, by you, and for you.
No one can do it for you except you, yourself.
No gurus, no scriptures, no pundits, no temples, churches, mosques, or gurudwaras can do it for you.
They all came after humans came into existence; the reign supreme of consciousness has been eternal.
Use them as steps only (if at all), but don’t make them a final destination.
Anything outside of you is Sansar, a place of give and take; there is no salvation there.
The mind creates most of our hindrances in this path because of its illusory state.
But, at the same time, it can also be a great tool for you, if you understand its nuances.
Mind likes three things –
1. A belief to believe in.
2. Repetition of it.
3. Action ( the proof ).
If you meditate as “I”, you are only condensing your age-old belief that “I am this body”, trying to connect with Sanadhi.
The mind sticks to this belief, and now you have a tough journey to travel.
All the yogas – Karma yoga, Bhakti yoga, Gyan yoga- they are all based on keeping you as you are and then telling you to do the hard work of finding the Samadhi state.
But the truth is, you are the Samadhi state; it is your natural state.
Start the path as consciousness (awareness).
(Mahavir always said, not yog (trying to connect), but ayog (trying to disconnect) is the right approach.
You are the consciousness witnessing the whole universe, nothing more and nothing less.
Meditate as consciousness and then keep doing it again and again.
It will satisfy two conditions of the mind: belief and repetition.
The same mind that has made the mistake of taking the body as the self (and keeps dying and being reborn again and again) will start to believe in itself as consciousness.
And with repetition of it, it will become its truth.
But the final proof is your actions.
Walk as awareness, talk as awareness, breathe as awareness.
Every action done in awareness will fulfill mind’s third requirement, and solidify its belief as consciousness.
Those actions are separate for us (“I” walked, “I” talked, “I” breath), but not for awareness; it is only a witness of it all.
Walking starts and stops.
Talking starts and stops.
Each breath comes and then goes.
Awareness is only aware of it all as a witness.
The state of awareness gradually reveals that unbroken existence (Samadhi) for you, your true self.
