For a long time, Lotus has been used to symbolize spiritual upliftment for the sadhaks, and rightfully so.
Lotus has quite appropriate power to explain a spiritual journey: coming up from mud (Sansar), staying above it, and spreading the beauty and fragrance, attracting spiritual seekers ( bees ) and, thus, participating in continuing the flow of spiritual life.
What does the lotus represent?
It represents the peace, silence, and tranquility of the formless, thoughtless, mindless state.
If spiritual rising starts building up your ego, making you think you are superior to the rest of the world, you will lose the whole purpose of the spiritual journey.
