Purity is Sattva.
An apple is sattvic; an apple pie is not.
The moment you add a human element, it becomes Asattvic.
An apple is not manufactured in a factory, but Apple pies are.
Why does adding human elements make it Asattvic?
What is so impure about humans?
Man’s world is very limited.
We know each other through our senses only; there is no other way.
So, we have created a world (Sansar) where the senses play the central role (no senses, no sansar).
Our senses keep us glued to it.
Trying to attract others and getting attracted by others, is the game.
(That’s why apple pie wins and the apple loses).
In this world, there is entry but no exit; everyone lives with one or the other addiction.
Naturally, whenever or wherever the human element is added, senses always play the major role.
Before humans came, life had been going on for millions of years, which actually created us.
For millions of years, life forms listened only to their bodies’ needs; their minds were primitive; existence was everything to them.
Without mind’s interference, there was peace and acceptance.
Even now, you can see the lives of trees and animals; they live in acceptance and peace, remaining synchronized with nature.
Only humans have chosen the mind-driven life instead of the nature-driven life.
In a mind-driven life, there are attractions, illusions, trickery, fantasies, hopes, depressions, desires, competitions; all kinds of suffering.
These sufferings are the result of the mind’s imaginary creation called Ego (false identification ), and time (and, in turn, past and future); the past fills you with depression, and the future with anxiety; the whole load falling on imaginary “I”.
So, as you can see, we are living an illusory life, a byproduct of the ignorant mind.
Because we fall for the mind, we are running all the time; no time to stop.
Only when we stop do we realize that nature is still supreme.
Birth, growth, decay, and death haven’t stopped.
Creations and destructions still exist.
By creating this self-created world, WE HAVE PUT OURSELVES IN DIRECT CONFLICT WITH GODLINESS (and results we see all around).
We keep on desiring, keep running and keep suffering.
Our faith in the mind is so deep that despite the suffering, we don’t seek alternatives.
Our ignorance is profound.
We have taken up a war that we cannot win, a war of Asattvic (mind) with Sattva itself, which actually created it.
Evolution has brought us up to this point with a highly developed mind; we can’t turn back and be animals.
But we can evolve further and seek higher dimensions, which can bring purity, peace, and innocence back into our lives.
