Question asked by a seeker – “I” is fake- it is also only a thought, the thought that you gave us. Why believe in one thought and not the other thought that “I” is real? (For us “I” is real). How should I answer?

Abhijit is correct; it doesn’t matter which thought is right and which thought is wrong; all thoughts are wrong.

Thoughts divide, and where you see divisions, there is mind.

All such arguments exist only till knowing happens.

Knowing is more important than talking.

I may believe “I” is fake, and you may believe “I” is real.

Go within, and prove yourself.

Find the truth, and we shall meet there; no arguments will remain; only silence will.

Only silence has the capacity to know the fakeness of the thoughts, including the thought of “I”.

Naturally, “I”  has to disappear to realize that it is fake.

That is the catch.

Words can never know the silence.

Clouds can never see what an empty sky would look like.

A lion cannot stay in the cage and insist on seeing an empty cage.

“I” is that lion, and the emptiness is the divine Godliness.
“I” is real is declared at the mind level; “I” is fake is declared at the consciousness level (if the person is realized).

Watch where your mind is running.

Instead of letting it run as it wants, choose rather to stay in awareness.

Keep yourself immersed in it while you do your mundane chores; most of which are mechanical.

The thoughts needed to do mundane chores are very few.

The ones that consume you are the ones generated by desires, a reflection of a predatory mind; always trying to get something from the world.

So, instead of them, choose inner peace, and before you know it, a beautiful anushashan (an orderly discipline – self-rule) will be established in your life, where there is nothing but peace and tranquility.
