You don’t have to neglect duality. The issue is not one of neglecting, but of seeing clearly. The very question suggests a certain confusion or vagueness, leading to the perception of divergence. Instead of focusing on neglecting the duality you see, I encourage you to self-introspect. Look deep inside yourself. When you see through the confusion, you will realize there is only one fundamental reality. This understanding allows you to move beyond the perceived duality, not by ignoring it, but by realizing its underlying unity.
I wrote a hypothetical story for the questioner.
“ Once, the Earth and the moon fought.
Moon wanted to be free from the Earth after being enslaved in Earth’s orbit, forever.
The Earth refused, stating that the moon was its child, born from it. It was its right to hold on to the moon.
Moon said it had done a lot of service for the Earth by stabilizing its orbit over millions of years, and now it is time for it to have a chance to become a planet, rather than remain the moon it has been for its entire life.
This bickering went on for a while.
Both the moon and the Earth contacted other planets and their moons.
They revealed that in the “Sansar” of planets and moons, such bickering is universal; no one is immune.
Finally, all planets and moons decided to go to the Sun.
Listening to all the arguments, Sun laughed and replied, “The identifications as planets and moons are your language, not mine.”
The truth is, planets are me, and so are the moons; you all came from me and will merge back into me in due time; you are me only.
Planets and moons were surprised to hear this truth.
They asked the Sun, we believe you, but how do we KNOW it is the truth?
Sun replied, MEDITATE, go beyond your material form, and you will find the flow of energy within you, which nourishes, fosters, and regulates you.
It brings seasons and grows the crops to feed you. “I AM THAT FORMLESS ENERGY, AND SO ARE YOU.”
Consciousness is our Sun.
Individual identifications may be a practical nomenclature, but not the ultimate truth.
Thoughts “connect” “I” (Earth) with others (Moons), but both are consciousness first and illusory individual identifications second.
When you desire, the desirer is consciousness, and so is the desired.
When you hate, the hater and the hated, both are consciousness.
So is the case for anger, discrimination, jealousy, greed, depression, and anxiety; all negativities arise from this ignorance of not knowing our commonality.
Such negativities are a profound waste of time.
Spend time with forgiveness, sympathy, love, and compassion, which are also the consciousness, but without ignorance.
Realizing that “I” and “You” both are illusions, most of the thinking will become unnecessary, and an absolute peace will prevail.
