Realizing awareness as pure awareness is a crucial step on the spiritual path.
Still, the actual spiritual journey begins after that and involves dismantling the mental framework we have created over many lives, based on “I”.
But dismantling the mental framework (Ego) is tricky.
If you “try” to dismantle it, it likes it even more because it got the attention. (Ego’s food is attention), And that’s why Ego only gets stronger.
So, how do you dismantle something without “ trying “ to dismantle it?
How do you make a line look small, without trying to make it small? – By drawing a bigger line next to it.
Dismantling the Ego actually involves diverting awareness into the shunya state by becoming immersed in the awareness itself (Dhyan), until nothing remains.
Nothingness and infinity are one and the same thing.
This gives rise to the infinite dimension of the Shunya state.
This Shunya state (samdhi) is a laundry machine that will wash away the ego.
Through repetition, the Shunya state (silence) becomes an absolute reality, and the Ego only a relative reality (a dream, Maya).
The alchemy of spirituality lies in the Shunya state, a mindless state that converts any metal into gold.
