Sorry to say, but prayers do not have a role in the path of Advait because.
One – prayer is an act – a doership. Doership is ego-driven.
Two – pray to whom? God, Godliness? – We haven’t even realized Godliness, who can we pray to?
That’s a duality in itself, and Advait is all about dissolving the duality and realizing the non-duality – the shunya state.
Three – prayers always have expectations attached (even though they are subtle and meant for the well-being of the world). Who knows what is good for the world? – certainly not the Ego – Ego is a fool.
Three – who is praying? That’s the ego itself. As long as the ego stands (no matter how subtle it may be), self-realization does not occur. Advait state happens only when there are no two.
Sorry.
Mind is cunning.
It keeps you occupied in better or worse, good or bad.
But it never lets you escape these two choices.
But there is a third choice, not to respond – the middle path as Buddha said.
The state of non-response opens the non-dual infinity to you.
You can practice that right now in moments like this, instead of falling into the trap of the mind.
Waking up is easier than you think.
Why worry about the world? Worry about yourself.
The limited time we have on this earth need not be wasted in these traps.
The same energy used to condemn others can be used to connect with the higher self.
