Thoughts keep coming...

Thoughts keep coming…

Thoughts arise from your being ( whatever you are, in the moment ) – basically, your subconscious mind.

And the subconscious mind, you cannot change.

That’s why fighting the thoughts doesn’t work.

Let them arise.

The only thing you can do is not attach yourself to them.

Just like a breeze of wind, let them come and go on their own.

Don’t believe that – you thought of that thought.

If you dissect the whole process carefully, you will realize that a thought arises first, and then we say, “ I thought about such and such.”

“I” gets added later, after the thought has already arisen.

This is the most crucial step one needs to understand.

Refrain from adding “I”.

( Even without adding “I” , the thought would have arisen anyway ).

Just be a witness; let the thoughts arise and subside on their own.

Do not lay any claim of ownership on them. ( Remember from our earlier discussion: nobody owns anything or anyone in existence.)

The moment you lay ownership on the thoughts, they become “your” responsibility; the Ego gets involved.

Then, you will start judging them – good thought, bad thought, etc.

And this is followed by the mind’s further involvement in making you a better person (from regret for a bad thought) or in considering oneself on a high pedestal for thinking a good thought, etc.

This is Ego.

Not analyzing or judging the thoughts gives you rest from the Ego.

With practice, the mind fades slowly, and a true, pure witness arises from within. ( remember – witness only witnesses – nothing else ).

And soon, that witness ( consciousness ) becomes your true being, and the thoughts arising from it change drastically in quality and quantity.

Peace will prevail in your life.

Such a detailed inner realization is possible only through meditation.

Just reading this and only adding it to your treasure chest of knowledge is wasting this precious life.

Meditation is beautiful; don’t let a day go by without it.
