Snake in the Rope
When we see the snake in the rope, it is only our projection, a superimposition onto the rope; THERE IS NO SNAKE; the rope is the reality.
Similarly, the Ego is only our projection onto the Sansar, not a reality; THERE IS NO EGO; Sansar is the only existential reality ( not open for projections ).
The snake of the Ego has arisen due to our faulty mental framework.
“Me” is an illusion, and that’s why “Mine” is also an illusion.
Body and mind are gifts and outcomes of millions of years of evolution; we have not created them, we don’t maintain them, nor do we destroy them; existence does it all.
Calling them “Me” and “Mine” hides a profound lie.
Where did the notion of “Me” come from in this vast, ever-changing scheme of things?
Ownership is the biggest fallacy we have all been living in.
Existence is free; no one can own it.
And so, everything that EXISTS also has freedom built into it, and this is the truth.
Imposing ownership over anything or anyone is contrary to this truth and leads to suffering for everyone.
Calling the body and the mind “Me” is only our false thinking imposed on a naturally free process – Sansar.
Thinking may be false, but suffering is real; a snake may be false, but fear is real.
Awareness is that light needed to clear this confusion and see the rope as a rope, not a snake; sansar is a beautiful cosmic dance rather than a battlefield of Egos.
This flashlight of awareness we all are carrying within us; turn it on.
