Most of us view Spirituality as something too soft, or esoteric, or impractical, but luckily, Dr Shrenik Shah peels the onion to help us understand the pure practicality of spirituality!
My initial reaction was that a medical doctor expounding on spirituality is a contradiction in terms. Still, this physician soon convinced me that a life lived without spirituality is dangerously incomplete! Interestingly, Dr Shah culled much of his spiritual wisdom from his own journey with his patients! And therein lies the power and purity of this book.
We have been taught to follow religion in the hope of seeking salvation, but religion has caused more division, more turbulence, and more hatred. This book explains how spirituality serves as a relief from religion. It focuses on how to attain peace of mind and tranquility by living a values-based life instead of getting lost in the temporal, unending pursuit of hollow pleasure.
I would strongly recommend people of all ages and backgrounds read this book, not just once but often, to absorb the author’s wisdom fully. Also, please get into the habit of practicing Meditation and Mindfulness. It will make you a better person. And eventually it will make this world a better, more peaceful place!
