Meditation is Non-Doing

Meditation is Non-Doing

Meditation is all about DOING NOTHING (not just physically, mentally also) and watching the world flow (“You” included in the flow).

What you will learn from meditation, no one can teach you.

The problem is, we are not able to do nothing.

Your birth just happened; “You” didn’t do anything to make it happen.

Physical development of the body from childhood to adolescence and then adult age just happened; YOU didn’t do anything for that either.

Hormones kicked in on their own; your thoughts and desires suddenly changed. Your focus in life changed. Isn’t that a miracle by itself?

Who turned the hormones on?

Your finding mate was not “You” finding the mate; the hormones were doing it, utilizing your body as a vehicle.

Isn’t that a great opportunity by itself to be a vehicle of such grand force?

The same force that moves the galaxies around like a child tossing the balls around, is changing the seasons and also making your body go through various stages of life.

All along, God (Godliness) has been shaping you, molding you, and it will keep doing it till the end.

“I” has come into existence only because we don’t have faith in this vast Godliness.

Take “I” out of the equation, and life becomes beautiful.

What you call “my” life is not “yours” anyway; it never was, and it never will be.

By being “I”, you are only trying to create a couple of tiny ripples in this vast flowing river of life.

This river will keep flowing whether you are here or not; it is unstoppable.

The ripples you are trying to make are insignificant; they will be swept away in no time.

Let the “I” go and flow with life.

When “I” drowns, words, thoughts, beliefs, and concepts drown as well.

Ripples are as effortful and struggle-filled.

Flowing with the river of Godliness is joyful and peaceful.

Words are our language right now. We do everything with words (and then actions).

Let the silence be the language.

Words have limited power.

Silence is deep, very deep and very profound, and that’s the language of Godliness.

Words, thoughts, beliefs, concepts, all utilize the ocean of vast infinite Shunyata to rise from; they are its products, just the way waves are of an ocean.

Can you think if you are not conscious?

A product can never be better than the original entity.

One painting of Picasso cannot match Picasso himself, as he produced all of them and can produce again whenever he desires to.

So, what’s more important: words or silence?

Silence can teach you so much more (even in a fraction of a second, when it happens), than the words of anyone, even Buddha and Mahavir.

Inner silence is waiting for us when we are ready for it.

So, it all boils down to one thing: be ready (non-doing meditation), stay ready, and you will find Him, but only with His grace.

The most important step in meditation is to surrender everything, all words, concepts, beliefs, everything, and wait patiently for the divinity to shower.

And He will come.

This is a road, there is no one who takes the road, but failed to reach, Or skip the road but reached.

– Quran

Mind is a distraction on the path of spirituality – realize that.

He is everywhere around you, in every leaf and every piece of rock; only your mind prevents you from seeing Him.

The mind makes you DO things; you have to DO things to become happy.

In inner silence, you are happy without doing anything.

But making meditation a tool for becoming happy doesn’t work; it’s the mind working.

Only a genuine non-doing meditation will work.
