Faith
Our senses allow us only a limited view of life, and for the rest, we rely on our presumptions to get by in our daily lives.
We pass our day with a strong belief that the night will come.
Of course, it always does, but it is still a presumption during the daytime.
You see a person, but you see only their front side, not their back side.
You automatically assume he also has a backside (even though you haven’t seen it).
We create a total, composite picture of that person in our mind, partly from their visible front side and presumed but non-visible backside.
Such a technique is necessary; otherwise, we cannot live a balanced, practical life.
Meditation is a glimpse into the totality of life, the composite of the one perceived by our senses and the imperceptible one.
When we live a life solely guided by the senses, it becomes lopsided.
Adding the imperceptible dimension (formless consciousness ) to our daily lives balances it.
Faith in the aghyey ( unknowable ) does the job of bringing your life in balance, just the way the presence of the moon keeps the rotation of the earth in check.
Faith is that rudder that directs the boat of our life.
