Words, discourses, scriptures, and so on, can only point a finger, but you will have to take the journey yourself (DIY).
Getting lost in them is a total waste of a precious life.
This way, you came with nothing and will leave with nothing, except a loaded mind filled with so-called spiritual knowledge, but no realization.
Whenever you listen to spiritual discourses, who listens to them?
Your mind.
That’s all you have.
And what is the mind going to do with this knowledge?
Set a goal to achieve it in the future, making you feel that others (spiritual preachers) have already reached it, and you have not. This makes you think that you also need to achieve that goal.
And the goal means the future.
Does it sound like Sansar, where everyone lives a goal-oriented life and constantly compares themselves with others?
There is something wrong with this.
Why?
Because whenever Samadhi occurs, it always happens in the present moment.
Why?
Because consciousness is not aware of the past or the future, it is always present.
Why?
Because the past and future are the language of the mind, and samadhi happens only when there is no mind.
This creates an oxymoron situation, which will never let you succeed.
The key to realizing the samadhi is to let go of the whole of the Sansar, all the goals ( desires ) ( spiritual or otherwise ).
This will bring rest to the mind.
When the mind becomes devoid of all goals, concepts, beliefs, and convictions, whatever is left is Samadhi—your true self— IN THE PRESENT MOMENT.
So, meditation is the only path to transcend the mind and its chaotic dance (the past and the future).
Meditation is a training ground for being in the present moment, and this will become the Samadhi state.
You will never find this present moment in scriptures or discourses, but only in meditation.
Reading a map of the US is not the same as being in the US.
Dhan chaho ya dhyan chaho
Pad chaho ya parmatma chaho
Chah hi sansar hei
( whether you want money or meditation, position or God Himself – wanting itself is sansar )
