Soil gives rise to a tree.
Soil gives itself totally, and it becomes the tree.
We only see the tree and not the soil.
The tree grows, displays flowers, but it remains a tree.
A tree gives shade to people, and shelter to the birds and animals, but it remains a tree.
The tree bears fruit for the hungry, and yet it remains a tree.
Soil is nowhere to be found in this whole process.
Who is the real giver?
Soil gives, and gives in silence.
And, its giving is also unique.
In giving, it transforms itself into the tree; it becomes the tree.
The tree also gives, yet it still retains itself after giving.
We also give, but only a portion of what we have; the rest we retain.
Besides, a tree is a receiver first (from the soil) and then becomes a giver, just like we do in our lives.
We are the trees, and awareness is our soil.
A tree can never match the giving of the soil, and neither can we match the giving of awareness.
Our whole existence is a gift of awareness.
Awareness is where we get our origin, and that’s also where we return.
It is the real giver, as it doesn’t get anything from anywhere to give to us; it transforms itself into us.
Synchronizing with awareness transforms you into the ultimate giver, but this doesn’t necessarily mean you have to give something tangible.
Instead, being in a giving mode means remaining in a state of contentment, which is the ultimate reward of your spiritual journey.
Contentment ( sukh ) is possible only within, never outside, never was, and never will be.
