INTENSE MEDITATION

INTENSE MEDITATION

Lukewarm measures will only bring lukewarm results.

An intense measure will bring intense results.

For example –

Sometimes, do a contemplative meditation with a fixed contention that you have died.

Set aside an extended period, sit down in a relaxed posture, and close your eyes as if you are completing them for the last time.

With eyes closed, “see” your dead body, which has no power to do anything. It is lying motionless.

When the body is unable to move, thoughts also will seem meaningless. They also will come to an end.

What’s the point of thinking if it can’t be turned into action?

You are only witnessing an imaginary but believing it to be a realistic situation here.

Witness your whole life in front of you.

You always had horizontal spread in life.

Tomorrow always came.

But not anymore.

There is no tomorrow.

Study the condition of your mind.

It is full of thousands of pieces of information.

You accumulated so many “things” in your mind in the past and were still actively collecting when you suddenly died.

What happened to all your gains and losses?

Did they all get evened out?

What about your grudges against people and love for others?

Do they mean anything now?

What about the arguments that you won or the ones you lost?

What is the purpose of them now?

They seem so futile now.

You accumulated so much professional, nonprofessional, experiential knowledge over the years, from hearsay, etc.

Now, that knowledge has also lost its value – to you and others.

What will happen to this accumulated knowledge you thought was valuable all these years?

Nothing.

It will just vaporize like a dream as if never existed.

It is a rude awakening.

All your ideas, beliefs, convictions regarding right and wrong, your intense emotions, anger, and complaints about life, everything will vaporize as if they never existed.

Were they this futile?

Contemplate deeply on this.

Then, gradually, twist your focus inwards.

Realize – who is silently witnessing this death scenario?

Who is aware of everything?

Let the dead body and mind go.

Just immerse yourself in the entity that is aware of it – the awareness itself.

Be aware of the awareness and go back deep into it.

That is your soul, your best friend, who was with you every step of your life and is still there. ( Unlike the body and the mind, whose companionship has proven elusive and short-lasting. )

Be ONE with your soul, and experience all its friendly qualities.

Eventually come out of the meditation, but now with a different life view.
