Rising above the Sansar

The mind’s (Ego’s) strength is the past.
It lives in the past and thrives on the past.
Ego is nothing more than a compilation of millions of past images.
They are ONLY images of objects, people, and situations compiled by the Ego and stored as memory.
Memory is the kingdom; the Ego rules.
The densest image of all, of course, is the body, which reminds the mind of its presence constantly.
The whole Ego is false; you can say it is “imaginary”, because it is based solely on images.
And for concocting a continuous story out of all these images, the mind has made the body the central, seemingly sturdy character – the Ego, the “I”.
So far, we have only lived this life, with full faith in “I”.
But the Ego’s illusory nature surfaces only when a new dimension is added to the scenario: awareness, as a background.
When you drive, stay aware of driving and also of the body that is driving the car.
When you eat, remain aware of the eating as well as the body that is eating (and liking it or disliking it, etc).
Don’t make a thought out of it; only remain aware; let awareness be the awareness.
Normally, while driving or eating, we are fully occupied looking at the road or the taste of the food, etc.
Now we have to add one more dimension and be aware of these processes, only as happenings.
No judgment, no criticism, no analysis, no comparison, just awareness.
Slowly, with practice, you will start to find your own independent presence beyond the body and beyond the mind.
And this would translate into an immense peace, beyond the sufferings of the world, body, and mind.
With practice, awareness will become your new home, and you will fall in love with its perpetual absolute peace.
You will be floating “above” the Sansar, like a lotus above the mud.
Once this happens, the shunya state will not be far.
The lotus is such a beautiful example of this elevated dimension that you almost feel sorry for the cold-climate parts of the world where lotuses do not grow.
Let the lotus inspire you on a noble path of spirituality.
