Awareness Vs Mind

Awareness Vs Mind

When awareness becomes a firm reality, the mind becomes an illusion (because awareness can be aware of the mind, and whatever you are aware of must be an illusion; there cannot be two realities).

So, when awareness is pursued by awareness and condenses in itself (Dhyan), the mind and its activities are exposed as only a play in an illusory world.

The mind captures images from the world and then rearranges them (just the way a kid collects baseball cards and arranges them in chronological order).

Whatever it no longer sees, it calls PAST, but still holds onto it.

Based on them, it fantasizes about the future (which hasn’t even happened yet), and makes plans to achieve more of what it has liked and avoid what it has disliked.

And it keeps running among these images of the past, the future, etc.

This way, the mind remains busy and never allows us to rest in awareness (our true state).

It constantly keeps reminding of the past, and constantly keeps us worried about the future, spoiling our lives.

This way, the mind creates time: past, present, future, etc.

It creates these divisions, but where do they appear?

In the awareness itself.

But the awareness is spirit; it is indivisible, and yet the mind divides it.

It’s like making flowers of the sky.

But we believe these divisions to be real, and thus we live a divided life, under the supremacy of the mind. (Our fault).

Meditation exposes the mind’s illusory nature, right in front of the eye of awareness (the inner eye).

That’s when one realizes non-duality as the only truth, and laughs at one’s own folly of believing in duality all along.

Advait prevails, and dvait (Maya) disappears.
