Freedom from the Mind
One who realizes the true nature of the mind becomes free from it.
Mind means repetition; it just likes to keep repeating the same object, the same people, the same situations.
Keep driving the same route to work, keep eating the same familiar food, the same familiar company, the same fixed drawer to keep the car keys in, the same home to return to at the end of the day; mind never gets tired of it; it likes this.
It is afraid to try something new, and even if it does try it and likes it, it wants to keep repeating it, too.
Mind means repetition.
The question is, why?
Why does the mind want to keep repeating?
Shrenik Shah: ??
Mind finds identity in repetition, me and mine, and does not want to let go or be lost ( in unfamiliarity).
Bhatt: It finds comfort in that
Shrenik Shah: 👏👏👏
Shrenik Shah: The world is divided into two things –
The known and the unknown (but knowable).
You may not know my grandson; he is unknown to you. Once I show you his picture, he becomes known to you.
Mind can toggle between the known and the unknown (but knowable).
Staying in the known gives the mind comfort.
Why?
Because mind’s power is very limited and it lives only within it.
If one sense organ gets lost, the other senses become more powerful.
That’s why blind people invariably become good listeners.
But still, it is a limited world for the mind.
The mind is like a pair of binoculars focused outward, but we can’t see our eyes in them; the eyes are behind the binoculars.
There is no way to “see” the eye.
Same way, there is another dimension which is not known (Gyat), not unknown (Agyat), but UNKNOWABLE (Aghyey), and it is beyond the mind; the mind cannot “see” it.
Inner silence, shunya state, is there, but the mind is useless in reaching there.
To realize the aghyey state, one has to realize this limitation of the mind.
To realize the Aghyey, one has to reverse the binocular.
Luckily, the binocular that we have is reversible – the awareness.
The same awareness we project outside we can invert and slowly sink into this state of Agheyay, and be free from the mind.
So, if you really look at it, all our life this is all we do: know and connect with the outside world more; the better, call that a valuable achievement, brag about it, fight for more of it, despair if we can’t, and our life comes to an end.
But the sad truth is, we never know who we are.
