Maya (perceiving unreal as real, and real as unreal) is an illusion, and an illusion is a belief.
All beliefs reside in the mind.
So, transcending the mind alone can help you overcome Maya.
And the highest state beyond the mind is the Shunya state – silence.
Silence is very deep and very mystical.
Only silence has the power to digest the complex mystery of Maya and still live one’s daily life.
Maya is the disease, and Silence is the cure.
The inner silence, Shunyata, is a dimension where there is no “noise” of the thoughts.
And it has a power to overcome the Maya.
In the example of us witnessing a tree, we realized that the space between is crucial and is connected to the infinite.
But that is a talk of physics.
Our mind can easily comprehend this.
Then why is the shunya state necessary?
What is the magic hidden in the Shunya state?
Shunya state has no thought noise. Shunya state is also experienced. Experienced by what? It is experienced by awareness. So awareness is still there. Since there is no other noise here, it is easier to experience awareness.
Who experiences this awareness?
When we talk physics, it’s a mind game, but when we meditate, it’s all about awareness.
That awareness was there, even as we watched the tree, but we were lost in “I” and the tree, unaware of the awareness.
So, in Shunya state nothing remains, but something remains, which is beyond your mind, and that’s your true self.
You were there even when your body and mind were watching the tree.
That experience happened and is gone (and you move on to another), but awareness always remains.
It just watches.
Whatever the mind-body complex goes through, it witnesses.
Experiences are many; they keep changing, but awareness never changes.
Just as stations come and go, you in the train do not become the stations; you are not them.
Mind-body complex is a station; it’s not you.
Awareness is only one, and you are that.
